Ohio EPA Holding Public Hearing to Discuss Permit for Carrollton Natural Gas Compressor Station
Ohio EPA is accepting public comments at a May 22, 2018, public meeting on a draft air pollution control permit for the installation of an additional engine and dehydration unit at an existing natural gas compressor station in Carrollton.
The public information session begins at 6 p.m. at Carrollton Village Council Chambers, 80 Second St. SW, Carrollton. A hearing will immediately follow during which the public can submit comments for the record concerning the draft permit.
If approved, the permit would allow Blue Racer Midstream LLC to add one natural gas compressor engine and a triethylene glycol dehydration unit to the Carroll County Field Station #1 compressor station located at Cobbler Road NE. The compressor station currently has three engines and one dehydration unit.
Written comments are considered the same as oral testimony presented at the hearing. Written comments must be received by the close of business on May 29, 2018. Comments can be mailed to Marisa Toppi, Ohio EPA Northeast District Office, 2110 E. Aurora Road, Twinsburg, OH 44087 or emailed to email@example.com.
Interested parties may access the draft permit online or request a copy from Ohio EPA Northeast District Office by first calling (330) 963-1200.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency was created in 1972 to consolidate efforts to protect and improve air quality, water quality and waste management in Ohio. Since then, air pollutants dropped by as much as 90 percent; large rivers meeting standards improved from 21 percent to 89 percent; and hundreds of polluting, open dumps were replaced with engineered landfills and an increased emphasis on waste reduction and recycling.
