January 31, 2020 Ohio EPA Announces Funding for New Waterford Infrastructure
Today, Ohio EPA announced an infrastructure project aimed at improving drinking water quality as part of Gov. Mike DeWine’s H2Ohio initiative. New Waterford will receive $500,000 in H2Ohio funding for its project to construct a new drinking water line extension from New Waterford to Crestview Schools.
January 31, 2020 Ohio EPA, ODOT Announce Diesel Emission Reduction Grants for Public Transit
The Ohio Diesel Emissions Reduction Grant (DERG) Program has awarded seven grants totaling almost $7 million for replacing 29 aging diesel transit buses with newer, cleaner diesel technology or alternative fuel technology. Nine of the new buses will be electric, 11 will be powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and nine powered by new cleaner diesel technology.
January 28, 2020 Ohio Releases Updated Domestic Action Plan Draft
The Ohio Lake Erie Commission and the State of Ohio have released an updated draft of the Ohio Domestic Action Plan to reduce phosphorus entering Lake Erie under the binational Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.
January 27, 2020 Ohio EPA Approves Proposed Well Site
Artesian of Pioneer’s application to site a drinking water well near the village of Fayette has been approved by Ohio EPA. The action only approves the siting of one well at the location. Approval of a single well site is different than approving detailed plans for a new public water system, and it is the first step in a multi-step process required if a new public water system is planned.
January 15, 2020 Batavia Students Win Ohio 2020 Future City Competition
Batavia Middle School from Clermont County won the Ohio region of DiscoverE’s Future City Competition on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical School in Groveport. The students now will travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in the national competition during National Engineers Week, Feb. 15-19.
January 14, 2020 Honda R&D Americas Earns Ohio EPA’s Platinum Environmental Stewardship Award
Ohio EPA Director Laurie A. Stevenson today recognized Honda R&D Americas, Inc. (HRA) with the Agency’s platinum level environmental stewardship award. The company earned the top award for its emphasis on waste reduction, community service and outreach.
