After March 23, our district offices and Central Office will be temporarily closed and will have increasingly limited ability to receive deliveries, plans, etc. All entities are encouraged to submit plans, permit applications, etc., electronically where there are existing avenues to do so, such as the eBusiness Center (eBiz). Please refer to the list of available services on the main eBiz webpage. We encourage you to make use of all that apply, even if you have not used eBiz in the past. Plans under 25 MB can be emailed. For large plans over 25 MB, entities should work with the reviewer/division to upload via LiquidFiles. Directions for submitting docs via LiquidFiles is available on YouTube. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding. If you wish to send hard copies of documents to any of Ohio EPA’s district offices, the best method to ensure we receive these documents is to send them via U.S. Mail. Since all offices are closed, deliveries outside of U.S. Mail (FedEx, UPS) will likely be returned because the offices are closed and deliveries cannot be made.

Ohio EPA Awards Grant to Provide Lessons in Urban Forestry to Cleveland-area Organization
The Western Reserve Land Conservancy wants to increase the Cleveland Metropolitan Area’s urban forest canopy and has joined with Holden Arboretum to teach area residents how to properly plant and care for trees. Urban trees help filter pollution and can help lower temperatures by providing shade in the summer so improving the density of urban woody plants has benefits to both people and their environment.

Ohio EPA Education Grant for Models at TNC’s Ashtabula County Site
Area teachers will be able to learn about and expose their students to a beaver lodge exhibit thanks to work being done by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) at its Grand River Conservation Campus, Morgan Swamp Preserve. With financial assistance from Ohio EPA, TNC will design and build a beaver lodge exhibit in an existing building at the Morgan Swamp Preserve site.

Ohio EPA Education Grant to Fund Hands-on Learning in Cuyahoga and Summit Counties
Drawing inspiration from nature, Great Lakes Biomimicry is developing and will be teaching site-specific wetland ecology lessons and project-based learning activities for school field trips to two University of Akron field stations. Approximately 800 Akron City Schools middle and high school students will visit the Panzer Wetland Wildlife Reserve and Bath Nature Preserve for hands-on educational opportunities.

More than 450 students from kindergarten through second grade will benefit from a five-month program for elementary teachers through Ohio State University.
