DDAGW Vision: The citizens of Ohio know that their drinking water, whether it comes from wells or surface water, is safe to drink. Everyone in the state can easily obtain information about the quality of drinking water and ground water in their area, their region and the entire state.
The Division of Surface Water is responsible for restoring and maintaining the quality of Ohio's rivers and streams. The goal of Ohio's surface water program, restoration and maintenance of Ohio's water resources, reflects the national water quality objective as contained in the Federal Clean Water Act (CWA).
DERR consists of four programs: Site Assessment & Brownfield Revitalization Program (SABR) , Emergency Response Program, Remedial Response Program and Voluntary Action Program (VAP).
OCAPP works with companies and other Ohio EPA divisions on a voluntary, non-regulatory basis to help them modify their processes, materials and practices to generate less pollution in a cost-effective and technically feasible manner and to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental rules and regulations.
