Public Interest Center Rumpke Carbon Monoxide Information

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, nonirritating gas produced by the combustion of carbon-containing material, such as wood, paper or gasoline. For more information, please visit www.atsdr.cdc.gov/toxprofiles/tp201-c1.pdf

The minimum detection limit (MDL) for carbon monoxide is 1 part per million (ppm). If CO is ever detected above this level, the reading will be compared to short-term health effect data. The eight-hour exposure level limit is 25 ppm and the 10-minute exposure level limit is 200 ppm.

All carbon monoxide readings on the instantaneous equipment have been zero.

Please click here to view instantaneous sample results on HCDOES's Web site.

Hamilton County Public Health has provided an interactive map of the results, but it will require that you download the Google Earth plug-in to view. If you do not  have this plug-in, you will be prompted to download it when you click the link above. If you do not wish to download the plug in, please contact HCDOES at (513) 946-7777 to make arrangements to see the data in another format.
