  • Center for Sustainable Design (CfSD)

    The CfSD have undertaken a range of 'green design', communications, packaging and marketing projects for international companies. In addition they provide information, training and educational materials, consultation and more.

  • The Cygnus Group

    The Cygnus Group helps businesses successfully develop and effectively promote waste-preventing strategies, products, and packaging.

  • Environmental & Energy Technology Exchange

    The primary function of this site is to expedite the transfer of new environmental and energy technologies by providing quality information on new technologies for buyers or investors. The site help facilitate new research opportunities & partnerships between researchers and industry by providing information on research programs and opprotunities.

  • Farm*A*Syst/Home*A*Syst

    Farm*A*Syst helps farmers and ranchers identify pollution risks from nitrates, microorganisms and toxic chemicals. Home*A*Syst reaches non-farmers who face pollution risks from faulty septic systems, pesticide use, petroleum leaks, and hazardous waste disposal. The program's formula of education, self-assessment and action plan motivates rural landowners to voluntary action that increases use of site-specific management practices that prevent pollution.

  • Global Futures Foundation (GFF)

    GFF is an innovative environmental non-profit foundation. It focuses on systematically integrating programs which lead to source reduction, pollution prevention, low-cost market development, and incentive market driven regulatory structures which tend to reduce both economic and environmental costs. It features a publications listing and online articles.

  • GreenClips Environmental Journal

    An archive and mailing list of articles on green building and other projects.

  • Green Engineering WWW Servers (Environmentally Conscious Design & Manufacturing Lab)

    A listing of academic sites and research centers related to environmentally conscious design and manufacturing.

  • INFORM

    INFORM is a non-profit environmental research and education organization that focuses on development of state-of-the-art strategies to prevent waste and pollution at the source.

  • Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Sciences (IAMS)

    IAMS is a not-for-profit organization for manufacturers, offering respected, solution-focused implementation of change in manufacturing operations. IAMS has a history of increasing profitability while promoting pollution prevention. Of particular interest is the Pollution Prevention Information Resource for Industry Sectors (P2IRIS).

  • Life Cycle Assessment Links

    This large list of links is maintained by the Tufts University, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Life Cycle Assessment is an objective process to evaluate the environmental burdens associated with a product, process, or activity by identifying energy and materials used and wastes released to the environment, and to evaluate and implement opportunities to affect environmental improvements.   • Material Systems Laboratory at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

    The MIT Material Systems Laboratory is internationally recognized for its innovative work on the competitive position of materials and products in automotive, aerospace, electronic, and environmental applications. This site includes a summary of current work in Life Cycle Analysis.

  • National Defense Center for Environmental Excellence

    The NDCEE is an R&D center that works with the public and private sectors to develop new technologies for environmental applications,and to accelerate adoption of new technologies.

  • National Environmental Compliance Assistance Center

    A joint project between Industry, Front Range Community College, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region VIII Office. They have a P2 information page which includes info on: waste minimization, new products, education, and industry specific p2 topics.

  • National Microscale Chemistry Center

    The National Microscale Chemistry Center (NMC2) was established to promote the use of microscale chemistry as a means of eliminating toxic waste at the source. They offer workshops, seminars and publications on the operation and advantages of conversion of laboratories to the microscale level.

  • National Pollution Prevention Center for Higher Education (NPPC)

    (NPPC) develops P2 educational materials (compendia) for university instructional faculty. These materials help faculty incorporate the principles of P2 into existing or new courses; they contain resources for professors as well as assignments for students.

  • National Pollution Prevention Roundtable (NPPR)

    NPPR is the largest membership organization in the United States devoted solely to pollution prevention (P2). The Roundtable provides a national forum for promoting the development, implementation, and evaluation of efforts to avoid, eliminate, or reduce pollution at the source.

    The Roundtable's voting membership include state, local, and tribal government pollution prevention programs. Affiliate members include representatives from federal agencies, non-profit groups, and private industry. Public sector members located in every state and internationally, operate programs that provide pollution prevention information and technical assistance to thousands of industrial, commercial, and agricultural facilities each year.

  • North Dakota (University of ): Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC)

    The EERC specializes in clean, efficient energy technologies and environmental systems that prevent pollution and clean up contaminated air, soil, and water.

  • Pollution Prevention Institute (PPI) .

    The Pollution Prevention Institute (PPI) at Kansas State University, assists small businesses efficiently and economically reduce and control their waste streams.

  • Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Research Center (PPRC) Pollution Prevention Research Projects Database

    PPRC provides information on P2 research activities and funding opportunities throughout the U.S., including a publications listing. This site also includes access to a searchable pollution prevention research projects database, a funding clearing house, and back issues of their newsletter

  • Pollution Solutions

    Pollution Solutions provides resources to help businesses start up waste minimization and P2 programs.

  • Research Triangle Institute (RTI)

    RTI is an independent research institute providing research and technical services to business and government. Environmental protection is one of their research priorities. Information about RTI's work in pollution prevention ( including life cycle analysis and solvent alternatives), direct sulfur recovery process, and indoor air quality is available.

  • RIPPS - Resources and Information for Pollution Prevention in the Southwest.

    The RIPPS site is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency and has been developed forthe EPA's Region 6, which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. This site can help identify pollution prevention opportunities and connect you to other pollution prevention resources, including case studies.

  • The Technology, Business and Environment Program at MIT

    The Technology, Business and Environment Program helps companies achieve environmental excellence and business success. by centering on business practices and linking technological change with sound environmental management. Information avaliable on industrial ecology and design for environment (DfE).

  • Tellus Institute

    A non-profit research and consulting organization devoted to resource management and environmental issues. Includes P2 information on total cost assessment and life-cycle assessment.

  • The Toxic Use Reduction Institute (TURI)

    The Institute was created to promote reduction in the use of toxic chemicals or the generation of toxic by-products in industry and commerce in the state of Massachusetts. The Institute works in conjunction with the State Department of Environmental Protection and the State Office of Technical Assistance. It is a multidisciplinary research, education, and technical support center located at University of Massachusetts Lowell.

  • UC Berkeley's Center for Green Design and Manufacturing

    Provides up-to-date information on UCB's Green Design program, which focuses on software and other design tools for the manufacturing industry. Summaries of past publications, current work and upcoming papers are provided.

  • UIUC Chemical Waste Management Guide

    Thorough guide to general chemical and laboratory waste minimization, and laboratory P2.

  • University of North Dakota: Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC)

    The EERC specializes in clean, efficient energy technologies and environmental systems that prevent pollution and clean up contaminated air, soil, and water.

  • The Washington Technology Center (WTC)

    The WTC is a technology Transfer Center.

  • Washtenaw Pollution Prevention Coalition

    The Washtenaw P2 Coalition is a voluntary community effort to promote source reduction, reuse, recycling and sound waste treatment practices, and to encourage the sustainable use of resources. The Coalition includes business, citizens, academia, government, institutions and other organizations. They provide training and technical assistance in Washtenaw County, Michigan.

  • Water Environment Federation

    Water Environment Federation is a not-for profit technical and educational organization. It includes extensive information on water pollution control and includes technical discussion groups dedicated to troubleshooting and research and pollution prevention.

  • WaterWiser (Water Efficiency Clearinghouse)

    A major source for water efficiency and water conservation information. Includes a publications listing and links to other Internet water-related resources.

  • WeldNet - Edison Welding Institute (EWI)

    Edison Welding Institute maintains its home pages for various programs within the Institute, as well as access to the WeldNet databases. EWI provides practical welding and joining solutions to the automotive, appliance, welding equipment, heavy manufacturing, electronics, medical aerospace, defense, primary metals, plastics, power generation and process industries.
