Description:
The
speaker will discuss:
- The changing regulatory landscape: Facilities will be
impacted by PBTI (Persistence, Bioaccumulation, and
Toxics
Initiative), EPA's initiative to address chemicals that
persist in the environment, that bioconcentrate and
that
present aquatic toxicity concerns
- Regulatory Criteria: Which chemicals will meet the PBT
regulatory criteria.
Changes to the toxic release
inventory (TRI): Near-term and long-term implications
for
the facilities.
- The PBT Profiler: An easy-to-use, no cost, WEB-based
computerized tool that predicts persistence,
bioconcentration, and aquatic toxicity based on
chemical
structure; helps you understand if chemicals you use
meet
the PBT Regulatory criteria.
The
speaker will demonstrate the PBT Profiler and discuss how
you
can use this tool to forecast potential regulatory
liability,
compare product alternatives for PBT
characteristics,
etc.
