How Your Small Business Can Get in Touch With EPA Air Requirements...
Are you an independent business owner employing less than 100 people? If so, the Office of Compliance Assistance and Pollution Prevention (OCAPP) is here to help you!
The Technical Assistance Section
What is it?
The Small Business Technical Assistance Section is non-enforcement and non-regulatory. It is designed to provide free and confidential technical assistance to small businesses in order to increase understanding and compliance with air pollution regulations. This can drastically reduce the likelihood of environmental enforcement actions and fines against your company.
What can we do for your small business?
Information
You can call to get answers to questions you may have about EPA regulations, permit requirements, and where to mail your applications. We also provide guidebooks, pamphlets, and copies of forms and regulations. No need to sort through mountains of regulations! We keep you informed of changing regulations and are available to speak at your trade organization's meetings.
On-site Air Pollution Source Audits
At your request, we will come to your facility to determine exactly what you need to do to comply with air permitting regulations. This is not an inspection. A site visit by friendly OCAPP staff can better prepare you for an actual EPA inspection, because now you will know what to expect. You will be sent a follow-up letter outlining, in detail, what action is required for each air pollution source. Additional meetings can be arranged as needed.
Air Permit Application Forms
Can't understand the permit application forms? No need to hire a consultant. Help is available to correctly and completely fill out permit application forms, line by line if necessary. We can also calculate emissions or do calculations documenting permit exemptions you may qualify for. Incorrect or incomplete applications is a major cause of delays in obtaining required permits. All services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL!
Confidentiality
Dealing with OCAPP will NOT result in fines. Under state law, the OCAPP cannot share information about your company with enforcement personnel. This means that small businesses may seek help voluntarily and confidentially.
So don't delay! Call or write the OCAPP today to find out your company's obligations under the Clean Air Act.
