Introduction

The purpose of this directory is to enhance the recycling of construction and demolition debris (C&DD) materials in Ohio. This directory is intended to serve as a reference for construction contractors, remodelers, and demolition contractors who are interested in establishing a waste reduction program for their business. It should be used in conjunction with the Ohio Construction and Demolition Site Recycling Guidebook which gives suggestions and tips on establishing and maintaining waste reduction and recycling programs. Companies that accept and recycle C&DD materials are listed alphabetically by county. Manufacturers of C&DD equipment, markets of C&DD materials, and other sources of information are listed at the end of the directory.

Ohio's Materials Exchange (OMEx)
The OMEx program is designed to help industries exchange useful waste materials. For example, an exchange of materials could occur between a company that produces large amounts of sawdust which is normally discarded, and another company that purchases sawdust for use in its daily business practices. Steel Recycling Institute (SRI)
The Steel Recycling Institute offers a free referral service for C&DD recycling efforts. The SRI Hotline, 1-800-YES-1-CAN (937-1226), can provide the name, address, telephone number and contact of a local scrap processor. The operator will be able to describe what types of recyclable materials are accepted or purchased including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, glass containers, plastic containers and some paper products.
