Ohio EPA List of PBT (Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic) Chemicals
US EPA's National Waste Minimization Strategy has identified 53 RCRA chemicals as PBT chemicals (see Federal Register Volume 63, Number 216). The US EPA's PBT Strategy, on the other hand, identified 12 PBTs as the first priority PBT Pollutants from the Canada-US Binational Toxics Strategy (see http://www.epa.gov/pbt). Ohio EPA has identified thirty-five (35) RCRA PBTs that are generated in Ohio, according to 1991 - 1999 TRI data. This list is presented below.
