Enforcement at Ohio EPA
Ohio EPA implements, regulates, and enforces Ohio's laws and regulations regarding air and water quality standards; solid, hazardous and infectious waste management and disposal standards; water quality planning and the supervision of sewage treatment and public drinking water supplies; and the cleanup of unregulated hazardous waste sites.
One goal of Ohio EPA’s enforcement program is to bring facilities back into compliance to ensure that public health, safety and the environment are protected. Enforcement actions occur, however, when an individual, or a facility owner/operator is not in substantial compliance with Ohio's environmental laws and formal action is necessary to establish a schedule to attain and maintain compliance.
All findings and orders issued are announced in the Weekly Review.
