Draft NPDES General Permit for Storm Water Associated with Construction Activity Located Within Portions of the Olentangy River Watershed

On March 14, 2008, Ohio EPA is public noticing a public hearing on a draft National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) general permit that would authorize storm water discharges from construction activities disturbing one or more acres of land that are located within specific portions of the Olentangy River watershed. This is the second draft of this general permit to be public noticed for comment. This draft permit contains significant changes to the original draft permit that was public noticed on March 12, 2007. The Draft General Permit for Storm Water Associated with Construction Activity Located within Portions of the Olentangy River Watershed includes additional requirements, beyond current statewide construction storm water general permit requirements, to address recommendations of the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) for the Olentangy River watershed.
 

An Ohio EPA information session and public hearing to accept comments on the draft general permit has been scheduled at 6:00 P.M. on April 30, 2008, at Dempsey Middle School, 599 Pennsylvania Avenue, Delaware, Ohio 43015. The public hearing will end when everyone in attendance has had an opportunity to provide comments related to the draft general permit. In lieu of attending the public hearing, written comments may be submitted in person or by mail no later than May 7, 2008.
