A 2-day training session on Ohio's biocriteria and QHEI methods is periodically offered. The introductory level instruction on Day 1 covers the information and procedures needed to understand fish community assessment (IBI, MIwb) and macroinvertebrate community assessment (ICI) work reported by Ohio EPA. Day 2 covers the procedures used in stream habitat assessment work (QHEI) and the basic concept of assigning aquatic life use designations.
Successful completion of this training can fulfill some of the requirements for Level 2 Qualified Data Collector status under the Ohio Surface Water Volunteer Monitoring Program. The 2-day training session is also approved for operator certification water and wastewater contact hours (Course # B393168).
Go to the Volunteer Monitoring Program Training and Testing page for training dates and more information.
