Division of Materials and Waste Management

The Division of Hazardous Waste Management has merged with the Division of Solid and Infectious Waste (DSIWM) to form the Division of Materials and Waste Management (DMWM).

The clean-up aspects of DHWM merged with the Division of Emergency and Remedial Response to form the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR)

As we combine the information available from both divisions, we will be developing a new website. Read more about the new division.

The Division of Materials and Waste Management implements Ohio’s solid waste, infectious waste, hazardous waste, and construction and demolition debris programs. In addition to a traditional regulatory program, the division’s core responsibilities include resources dedicated to research and promotion of emerging concepts and technologies associated with resource conservation, materials management, and sustainability. The division also oversees state and local planning for long-term solid waste management.
