Remedial Response Program

The Remedial Response Program investigates the nature and extent of historical hazardous waste releases in Ohio. The Program determines whether or not these potentially contaminated sites represent a risk to human health or the environment and whether they are safe for their intended uses. In cases where cleanup is necessary, the Remedial Response Program identifies the preferred remedial alternative and oversees the cleanup. Releases from existing, operational facilities may be regulated by other Divisions within Ohio EPA.
