Programs/Sections/Units

Assessment, Cleanup & REuse Section (ACRE):
will focus on the assessment and cleanup of contaminated and potentially contaminated properties that threaten human health and the environment.

Emergency Response, Special Investigations and Radiological Safety Section (ERSIS):
provides assistance to industries and communities during a spill or other environmental accident. The Emergency Response section operates a 24-hour toll-free number to receive reports of spills and environmental emergencies (1-800-282-9378).

  • Emergency Response Unit:
    minimize the impact of spills and releases to the environment and make sure they are properly cleaned up.
  • Radiological Safety Program:
    primary responsibility is to provide Ohio EPA staff with radiological technical advice and to provide the Ohio Utility Radiological Safety Board (URSB) with environmental expertise.  
     

 

Site Assistance & Brownfield Section (SABR):
assists local governments with the cleanup and marketing of contaminated and potentially contaminated properties at conferences, through the Web and other venues. This section will oversee CP and CL certification, tracking and training, manage the federal brownfield grant, administer Clean Ohio Fund activities, coordinate VAP Grant TAs and TBAs, coordinate BUSTR Class C sites, manage the brownfield inventory, manage the soon to be implemented environmental insurance program, and manage the marketing and outreach for the Division of DERR.
