Monitoring Schedules
Ohio’s public water systems are required to monitor for a variety of contaminants on a regular basis to determine whether or not they are meeting drinking water standards, also known as Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs). Each system has their own schedule which is based upon the type and size of the system, their source of water, and previous monitoring.
Monitoring schedules for each system are available below. The schedules are grouped by county, and each county link contains the entry point and distribution schedules for all of the public water systems in the county that were mailed schedules. Once you select a county, you can use "Edit" and then "Find" to locate a particular public water system’s schedule(s) by typing in a PWS ID number or PWS name (or click on the Binocular icon for searches).

When public water systems fail to monitor in accordance with their schedules, Ohio EPA issues monitoring violations. Before issuing a violation to the system, Ohio EPA publishes lists of apparent monitoring violations, to give the system or the laboratory a final opportunity to submit sample results.
