The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), also known as the stimulus bill, was signed into law on February 17, 2009. Ohio received approximately $58.5 million in ARRA funding for drinking water infrastructure projects. Ohio EPA is supplementing this amount with funding from other grants and bonds, and will distribute a total of $140 million through the Drinking Water Assistance Fund in the state fiscal year beginning July 1, 2009. Ohio EPA plans to distribute funding as quickly as possible to help stimulate Ohio’s economy by creating and retaining jobs through the construction of water infrastructure projects.

Once a draft Project Priority List and Program Management and Intended Use Plan is prepared, a public meeting will be held to provide interested parties an opportunity to comment on Ohio's Draft PY 2009-2010 Program Management and Intended Use Plan. A public notice will be published to advertise the availability of the Draft Management and Intended Use Plan and announce the public meetings. A copy of the public notice will be sent to all public water systems on the project priority list (PPL). The draft plan and public notice will be available on Ohio EPA Division of Drinking and Ground Waters Web site. Information regarding the public comment period will also be sent via an email Listserv. Public comments and questions received on the Draft Management and Intended Use Plan will be addressed in a responsiveness summary.

This page will be updated with specific information once the Project Priority List and Program Management and Intended Use Plan is public noticed. Please check back for details.
