Frequently Asked Questions

What Version of DRINKware do I have installed?

DRINKware displays the version number under the Menu Help|About. You should be using version 1.2 or 1.3.

What is my DRINKware Password?

When DRINKware is initially installed, the password is SQL. This should be changed to a unique secure password, in order to protect your data.

Do I still have to submit my paper forms as well as electronic?

No, electronically submitting reports places your information into the database where our staff can access it and process it.

Where do I E-mail my reports?

The e-mail addresses for DRINKware are:
drinkware@www.epa.state.oh.us
drinkware@ohio.epa.state.oh.us

What Type of Computer Will I Need?

Users will need an IBM-compatible computer with at least a Pentium 100 processor, 20 megabytes of random access memory (RAM) and approximately 20 megabytes of available disk storage space. Additionally, DRINKware requires Microsoft Windows 95 or better, and a functional e-mail account. Software is available only on CD-ROM.

How do I get a copy of DRINKware?

To obtain your copy of DRINKware, please complete the software request form. This form is in .pdf format, which requires the Adobe Acrobat™ reader. This reader can be downloaded at no cost from Adobe.

What is and How do I get a PIN number?

A personal indentification number (PIN) acts as your electronic signature and is attached to the data submitted. A PIN number will be assigned to the responsible official designated by each facility. You must complete and submit the Ohio EPA Electronic Data Submittal Memorandum of Agreement, in order to receive a PIN number.

I am setting up DRINKware for the first time. What is most important in my set-up?

During the installation you will be prompted to choose 16 bit, 32 bit short names, or 32 bit long names. Choose the 32 bit long name option.

When setting up the PWS and STU ID numbers, do not use leading zeros. For example in Butler county the PWS ID might be "0900033". In the set-up only type "900033". The leading zero will cause an error when retrieving certain data.
