Nonattainment Area Recommendation
Availability of Draft for Comment – Attainment Demonstration for 2012 PM2.5 Standards
August 23, 2016: Ohio EPA is providing for public comment Ohio’s draft Attainment Demonstration for the 2012 PM2.5 Standards. On January 15, 2013, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) promulgated a revision to the annual PM2.5 NAAQS from 15 µg/m3 to 12 µg/m3. On effective date April 15, 2015 the Cleveland, Ohio area was designated nonattainment for this revised standard. Ohio EPA’s emissions projections and modeling are presented as evidence of attainment by December 31, 2021. Comments received will be considered in the State’s final submission of the attainment demonstration to U.S. EPA.
Public hearings on these recommendations will be conducted on September 28, 2016 at 3:30 PM at the Parma-Snow Branch Library, 2121 Snow Road, Parma, Ohio. Ohio EPA is requesting comments by September 28, 2016 on Ohio's draft proposal. For information on how to submit comments or attend the hearing please refer to the public notice.
Redesignations and Maintenance Plans
Attainment demonstrations for the 2012 revised PM 2.5 standard are not due at this time.
