April 9, 2015 Grants Help Recycling Partnerships, Support Ohio’s Glass Manufacturers
Ohio EPA is awarding more than $459,298 in grants to help direct waste glass that would end up in landfills to Ohio’s manufacturers in the form of cullet – clean bits of ground jars, bottles and windows. Ohio manufacturers need recycled glass to produce new glass products,
including glass bottles and fiberglass. About 90 percent of glass containers used in Ohio ends up in landfills. Using recycled glass costs less than using raw materials by reducing energy demands.
April 8, 2015 Ohio EPA Seeks Input Related to Water Quality Impacts Related to Lake White Dam Improvements
Ohio EPA will hold a public information session and hearing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, to accept comments related to water quality impacts associated with rebuilding the Lake White dam and State Route 104 in Pike County outside Waverly. The meeting will take place at the Waverly Public Library located at 207 N. Market St.
April 2, 2015 Ohio EPA Awards $1,850 Environmental Education Grant To Belmont County Organization
Water quality in Captina watershed streams should improve after local officials learn and implement stream bank stabilization techniques. The techniques will be taught by the Belmont Soil and Water Conservation District as part of its Captina Creek Watershed Stream Bank Stabilization and Riparian Enhancement Educational Initiative, sponsored, in part, by an $1,850 Ohio EPA environmental education grant.

Ohio EPA grants to eight school districts will help reduce air pollution after they install pollution control equipment on 58 diesel school buses and anti-idling equipment on 53 buses as part of Ohio EPA’s Clean Diesel School Bus Grant program.

November 20, 2014 Ohio EPA Celebrates 25th Year of Loan Program to Help Communities Clean up Water Pollution
The Maumee River and Swan Creek, the Ottawa River and Lake Erie are a few examples where Ohioans are seeing nutrient and bacteria levels drop, thanks in part to a loan program Ohio EPA started 25 years ago. The Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) allows communities to borrow money at below-market rates to improve their wastewater treatment systems.

July 3, 2014 Ohio EPA Awards $8,700 Environmental Education Grant to Athens and Perry County Organization
Ohio University has received a $8,700 grant from Ohio EPA’s Environmental Education Fund to allow fourth and fifth grade students from four school districts to expand their use of existing land labs and local habitats. Eleven grants were awarded statewide for $304,136.
