‘Lake Erie Starts Here’ 25th Annual Photo Contest Has New Focus on Telling the Story of the Watershed
SANDUSKY, OH –The Ohio Lake Erie Commission announces the theme for its 25th Annual Life on Lake Erie Photo Contest, “Lake Erie Starts Here.” The goal of the new focus is to draw attention to how people’s actions in the Lake Erie watershed in Ohio are improving lake water quality.

Ohio EPA Assists Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District With Kingsbury Run Sewer Improvements
Ohio EPA is providing a $4,774,375 loan to the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) to fund upgrades to the Kingsbury Run sewer collection system. Kingsbury Run serves as a drainage outlet for the central portion of Cleveland, east of the Cuyahoga River, and the west end of Shaker Heights.

Ohio EPA Awards Environmental Education Grant to Promote Citizen Monitoring of the Lower Great Miami River Watershed
Enthusiasts of the lower Great Miami River watershed will have an opportunity to be part of a citizens’ water quality monitoring program thanks to an $18,822 grant from the Ohio Environmental Education Fund (OEEF). The grant was awarded to Rivers Unlimited – one of eight Ohio communities and organizations to receive a total of $239,941 to support environmental education programs.
