Ohio EPA Offering Water Quality Sampling Training

Level 1 Training Scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016

Ohio EPA is offering Credible Data, Level 1 (water quality data), training at Ken Green’s Farm, 943 Water St., Woodville, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2016.

Level 1 was designed with educators in mind and also is appropriate for soil and water conservation districts, park districts, health departments or anyone with an interest in Ohio water quality. The purpose of Level 1 is primarily to promote public awareness and education about Ohio’s surface waters.

Ohio EPA offers a variety of training opportunities. Information about subject matter and training locations is available online. Educators are encouraged to attend trainings in their specialties.

Email registration for this training must be received at dennis.clement@epa.ohio.gov by Oct. 21. Questions should be directed to Dennis Clement at (614) 644-2048.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency was created in 1972 to consolidate efforts to protect and improve air quality, water quality and waste management in Ohio. Since then, air pollutants dropped by as much as 90 percent; large rivers meeting standards improved from 21 percent to 89 percent; and hundreds of polluting, open dumps were replaced with engineered landfills and an increased emphasis on waste reduction and recycling.
