London is taking steps to reduce nutrients discharged to Oak Run from the city’s wastewater treatment system. A low-interest loan from Ohio EPA will finance a study of how the city will improve treatment and reduce nutrients.

Euclid Receiving Financing from Ohio EPA for Sewer Plant Construction
Euclid will improve water quality in Lake Erie by constructing a new treatment system at the city’s wastewater treatment plant with help from a $65.2 million low-interest loan from Ohio EPA. The additional treatment capacity will help prevent sewer overflows into Lake Erie.

Barberton Receiving Financing from Ohio EPA to Install Sanitary Sewers and a Pump System
Barberton will improve water quality in the Upper Tuscarawas River Watershed by constructing new sewers and a pump station in the Nash Heights subdivision, city of Norton. Part of the $8.4 million project will include a $4.6 million low-interest loan from Ohio EPA.

Ohio EPA Announces New Online Materials Marketplace
Ohio EPA Director Craig W. Butler is in Sandusky today to announce the launch of a new online service whereby Ohio businesses, not-for-profits and government organizations can advertise and acquire potentially useful products and materials that might otherwise be destined for disposal in landfills. The new Ohio Materials Marketplace (OMM) is a free online platform allowing these organizations to connect and find solutions to material reuse and recycling needs.
