Business leaders, nonprofit representatives and educators who are interested in learning more about Ohio EPA’s Environmental Education grants are encouraged to register for free grant writing workshops. Ohio EPA is offering the free two-part, one-day trainings to help would-be applicants decide which grants work for their organizations and how to write a winning grant proposal.
September 6, 2016 Bio-Energy (Ohio) Seeks Permit-to-Install for Landfill Gas Power Station
Ohio EPA and the Portsmouth Local Air Agency will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, to explain a request from Bio-Energy (Ohio) to build a landfill gas power station at the Rumpke Brown County Landfill. The proposed facility would produce electric power using gas generated by the landfill, located at 9427 Byers Road, Georgetown.
August 18, 2016 Ohio EPA Accepting Comments About Discharges to Long Run, Captina Creek Tributary
Ohio EPA will hold an information session followed by a public hearing as part of the Agency’s review of an application from Century Mine. If approved, the permit would set discharge limits for storm water at an expansion of the mine refuse disposal area located at 43521 Mayhugh Hill Road, Beallsville. The hearing will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2016, at the Beallsville Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 52125 Township Road 134, Beallsville.
June 6, 2016 Miami University Receives Help from Ohio EPA to Improve the Environment
Miami University’s Hefner Museum of Natural History will train 32 early childhood education majors as environmental educators, stressing content knowledge and effective training. Participants will become Certified Early Childhood Environmental Educators and will receive a kit of materials and resources to use in their classrooms.
