Sixteen Southeast Ohio Counties Receive Funding from Ohio EPA to Help Homeowners with Failing Home Septic Systems
Ohio EPA is offering communities financial assistance through the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) to help low- to moderate-income homeowners repair and replace failing home sewage treatment systems (HSTS). It is estimated that about 31 percent of all household sewage treatment systems throughout Ohio are experiencing some degree of failure due to poor maintenance or age. When failing systems discharge untreated sewage, potential exposure to harmful bacteria and pathogens can cause public health concerns and threaten the environment.

Ohio EPA Holding Meeting about Blanchard River Flood Reduction Project
Ohio EPA will hold a public information session and hearing at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, to accept comments about a water quality certification for impacts related to construction of the Blanchard River flood reduction project in Findlay. Ohio EPA Announces Recipients of Statewide Mosquito Control Grants
Ohio EPA Director Craig W. Butler and Ohio Department of Health Director Lance Himes today announced nearly $700,000 in funding for community health departments and related public entities across the state for mosquito control grants. The funding will help mitigate the spread of mosquito-borne viruses such as Zika, West Nile and La Cross Encephalitis.
